This curse repeat I welcome. It's a pleasure to see Celeste again.

(OOC - Orchid mantis Pic #1 and Pic #2. Pretty predator with fast reflexes. 'Celeste' is Latin for 'Heavenly', a reference to Luke's angelic appearance.)

And that is what?

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
She is a mantis.

[personal profile] cold_dry_pieces 2008-05-27 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. What is she, some sort of insect?

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Although, unlike the true orchid mantis, she is far too large for flower sitting.

Ah, I see. Mine is a bird..

Hawk~

Hawk rather. The variety is fascinating, isn't it? All manner of animals manifesting...

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I noticed there's a higher rate of mythical animals this time around.

[personal profile] cold_dry_pieces 2008-05-27 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Does this one happen often?

I wonder what the significance of that is-- if your soul's something that doesn't actually exist.

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Twice in total.

In some worlds, those animals do. In others, for example the common housecat is a thing of myth or unknown.

Pity, I rather like it.

I told you you'd come around.

Hmph. Well, that's a good point.

Yes, it is enjoyable.

However, those with large daemons are probably looking forward to midnight.

It could make living arrangements difficult. I think a few people ended up with horses... Matkustaja's at least been good about staying out of the way.

Given that daemons need to stay within a certain range of their persons, one can only imagine how awkward things must get with a horse in the bathroom.

[identity profile] --amidala--.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
A repeat curse...Do those happen a lot?

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes. Speaking in different languages, outbursts into song, gender change and body switching seem to repeat the most

[identity profile] --amidala--.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
How very interesting. And what type of creature is that?

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Insect. The common term for Celeste's species is 'praying mantis'.

[identity profile] --amidala--.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
And that would be an Earth creature, correct?

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[identity profile] notawhiteant.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing against you personally...but Pesche really hates mantises.

[ooc: Totally not him he dislikes. It's this guy (http://manga.bleachexile.com/bleach-chapter-310-page-12.html). Robbed Pesche's master of her powers and memories. Not a nice man.]

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
I assure you, not on the menu.

[identity profile] notawhiteant.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Pesche didn't mean to be rude. But there's a "mantis" named Nnoitra Jiruga who did my friend Nel a very bad turn.

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Interesting, I had thought of him as a cobra.

[identity profile] notawhiteant.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
You know him? No, mantis. Santa Teresa is the name, I think.
Edited 2008-05-27 02:29 (UTC)

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Not personally, but Nnoitra has made a name for himself here.

[identity profile] notawhiteant.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Not surprising. He acts like that, but on the inside he's really quite pitiable. At least Nel-sama always said so.

[identity profile] mildlyreckless.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, she's very pretty!

[identity profile] mildlyreckless.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
You're welcome! Is she very small?

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
She's far larger than a true mantis. Celeste is about parakeet size.

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I assume the size increase is a safety precaution. Most true insects are quite small.

[identity profile] mildlyreckless.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
That's good news for Celeste then!

2/2

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
I think that's the most unique daemon I've seen today.

Re: 2/2

[identity profile] valentineluke.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Thank-you.

Having seen your daemon, that would explain past curse induced squirrelness.

[identity profile] bright-shield.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
. . . . yeah. I still wonder why a squirrel, but... I suppose such are the mysteries of life.
